Sunset on Snowy Lake 24 x 18 Acrylic
I finished the 24 x 18 painting. I need to get the title for it now. As I have previously mentioned, naming a piece is both important and sometimes difficult. I have some general ideas. I want to get across the idea of mystery and hope. The sun light shining across the path/trail/way/? gives a special feel to the scene, almost magical.
I made another oil apple painting. This time it is on an 8 x 10 canvas. It was just as much fun as doing it on the board. I really see why people like to do those tiny little paintings though. The size lends itself to being very quick to paint without much fuss. I have been reading blogs and checking out some web sites about oil painting. Boy, there is a lot to kinow about. I suppose if I started with oils and tried to do acrylics I would be baffled by some of the techniques. I am practicing a little bit of oil every day.
I thought this was a funny and true quote.
Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, "My choices in life were either to be a piano player in a whore house or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference!”
